  • Dr. Nnaemeka Ukwuoma, DABIM

    FOUNDER AND LEAD PHYSICIAN

    Dr. Ukwuoma is the founder and director of Forest City Metabolic clinic. He is board certified in Internal medicine. 

    He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the State University of New York. After his training, he served as an Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Program Director and Director of ambulatory clinics of the Internal Medicine training program at the University of Buffalo. In these roles, he played a vital role in developing a successful Internal Medicine residency program. He also contributed to key initiatives as a member of the Informatics and Digital Health Committee, where he championed improvements in digital health technology, including tele-medicine workflow, crucial to delivering care during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

    For Dr. Ukwuoma, the heart of medicine is empowering patients to embrace lasting change that enrich their health for years to come. He's especially passionate about harnessing the power of nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle strategies, alongside thoughtful pharmacotherapy, if needed, to help you achieve your optimal health.

  • Tegan Rouse, RD

    REGISTERED DIETITIAN

    Tegan Rouse is a Registered Dietitian who was raised in St. Thomas. Tegan attended University of Western Ontario obtaining both her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition with a Specialization in Dietetics as well as completed a 1 year practicum receiving a Diploma in Dietetic Education and Practical Training. 

    Tegan is a dedicated Registered Dietitian with a passion for helping clients achieve their personal nutrition goals through practical, individualized support. She believes that nutrition should feel empowering—not overwhelming—and works collaboratively with each client to create a realistic, sustainable nutrition care plan that best fits their lifestyle, preferences, and nutrition needs.

    With experience across a range of clinical and outpatient settings, Tegan provides evidence-based nutrition information with a compassionate approach to care. Whether supporting someone in managing a chronic condition, navigating digestive issues, or simply looking to feel better through food, her focus is always on meeting people where they are and helping them build confidence around nutrition—one step at a time.

    Tegan has experience helping clients with a variety of nutrition concerns that include, but are not limited to, chronic disease management,  weight management and women’s health.

    In her spare time, Tegan enjoys staying active at the gym as well as playing soccer. Tegan also enjoys trying out new and fun recipes, spending time with family and friends and always enjoys a good book!"

  • Janice Daciuk, MS, MA, RP

    REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST

    As a Registered Psychotherapist, Janice offers a warm, supportive space for people who are struggling with eating, body image, self-esteem and the emotional side of health. She works from a place of curiosity and compassion, helping clients untangle the deeper thoughts and feelings that often show up around food, weight, and self-worth.

    Her approach blends talk therapy with practical tools from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Life Coaching and the Psychology of Eating.

    Whether someone is feeling stuck in patterns they can’t seem to change or simply looking for a better way forward, Janice meets you where you are—with respect, care, and a belief that change is possible.

    Working alongside the clinic’s medical and wellness team, she supports clients in building a more peaceful relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves—because mental health is an essential part of whole-person health.

  • Sydney McGillis, MA, MPH, RN

    REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST

    Sydney is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, holding an MA in Counselling Psychology and a Master’s in Public Health. Her professional journey is further enriched by her background as a Registered Nurse, with diverse experience in RN roles since 2016, ranging from palliative care to public health.

    Her passion for supporting the well-being of others, fostering meaningful connections, and embracing a holistic perspective guided her to become a therapist. Her areas of focus include helping individuals better understand their emotions, behaviors, and relationship with weight; navigating body image concerns; and supporting those experiencing disordered eating. She also specializes in capacity building, distress tolerance, grief and life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress management, and existential exploration such as meaning-making and purpose work. Sydney is particularly attuned to the differing needs that arise across the lifespan and tailors her approach to meet each client where they are.

    Sydney draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities and theories, including Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Existential and Humanistic approaches. She additionally integrates solution-focused and strength-based techniques to help clients build resilience and move forward with clarity and confidence.

    Above all, Sydney takes a client-centered, holistic approach, emphasizing compassionate support and creating a safe, non-judgmental space that honors each client's unique journey. She believes in personalized care rather than a one-size-fits-all method and prioritizes building a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship.
